Sensitive to Flash We made careful use of flash to create a beautiful fading slideshow of their fireplaces.
Edge Designs worked with this fledgling company to create an online presence that would drive business their way.
Derbyshire Fireplaces is owned and run by Tim Willmot, a nationally renowned stone mason. he wanted a website through which he could market his core product, hand carved stone fireplace surrounds.
We worked with Tim right from the beginning, helping him come up with a business name, assisting with the content, designing and building the website and developing a marketing strategy.
The Website
The website was built using standards-based XHTML and CSS so that it was light weight, robust and to facilitate better search engine rankings. Flash was used carefully, it was embedded properly and degraded gracefully.
The Marketing
We spent time submitting the website to a number of related business directories and set up a link exchange program to increase the number of reciprocal links. We worked on keyword placement across the whole of the website.
The Result
Since it went live in 2003 the website we created for Derbyshire Fireplaces has provided an ever growing flow of new work.
- The site ranks very well on search engines. Higher than any of its competitors on the vast majority of search terms
- 95% of traffic is from new potential customers searching for stone fireplaces
- 40% of visitors request a brochure
