New content

I have just finished moving all the content from my Random Ramblings Blogger site to this site. Non of it will be of much interest to any of you, I only really did it for myself. Anyway if you want to view any of it then take a look at all the posts made from Dec. 2004 until April 2005

Guest writers

I am hopefully going to be playing host to my first guest writer sometime this week, I won’t tell you what it’s about but it will be well worth reading. So please check back or better if you don’t like to look at my site just subscribe via RSS

SiteVista

What is more interesting though is what the site actually does, it’s a bit like Browsercam on steroids, I won’t, go into its complete list features here as you can check out their feature page. Of particular interest however is the print stylesheet checker and the videos of loading times, something us designers with fast connections can overlook. As Mr Oxton already pointed out it will be interesting to see what the screen reader and colour checker will be like.

I can’t wait for this to become public as I will surely be trying it out, any chance of a “promotional code”. :-)

The Commonly Confused Words Test

I scored:

78% Beginner, 92% Intermediate, 86% Advanced, and 73% Expert!

You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels’ questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don’t use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score. - Thanks very much :-)

Try it out for yourself

What did you get?

My Wordpress Plugins

This post has now been moved to the resources section and is now obsolete.

Gravatar

I think most people now use this and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was soon incoperated as standard in blogging software.

Gravatar signup

Havn’t seen this one around much but I do think its a nice idea even though it does still have some shortcomings, like the fact that you can’t change your password once you have submitted your comment.

Wp-Shortstat

A really great plugin, adapted from Mr Inmans popular Shortstat, it integrates seamlessly with wordpress and provides detailed current stats.

Accronym replacer

Another must have, does what it says on the tin.

Identify External Links

Very useful, again pretty self explanaterally.

Search Pages

It makes no sense to me that this wasn’t added to Wordpress in the first place, not that it matters this handy plugin will sort that out.

Wp-Gatekeeper

Another barrier to comment spam, the commenter has to answer a simple question.
